Decided to go for a swim in New Zealand one Sunday afternoon in 1999, got caught in a rather large rip and ended up in Australia! After coming to grips with the language I met a young girl from Guernsey, who began teaching me all about local tides heading away from Australia. I decided to try and swim home but the night before I got drunk and in the morning I had a hangover, jumped into the water, got the tide wrong and was found washed up three weeks later at Pembroke. Thought I would try and find my Guernsey mate from Aussie and have been here ever since.
After coming to grips with yet another language, I decided to play rugby for St Jacques - Great bunch of lads! Made me feel really welcome - Cheers. |
